Brugges, Belgium
“We took a well-advised ship-organized transfer from the bonded port into Brugges, our bus tour guide offered up a lot of information about the history of the historic town and provided us with some terrific guidance for a walking tour. Some knitters ventured out to find a one of the knitting shops that offered to specially open for our group, while many others took in organized tours instead. Definitely a tourist hotspot, this area was crowded with long lines for canal tours, horse carriage rides (they did not stop for anyone!), and tours of significant museums and buildings. It took us almost our full allotment of time, to circle the city, do a little souvenir shopping and treat ourselves to some chocolate (that did not last until back on board). We relaxed for a short time and enjoyed some terrific Belgian beer and Flemish Carbonnade while waiting for our bus back to the port.” — Paula
